How-to: Calligraphy Halloween Cards

How-to: Calligraphy Halloween Cards

Happy Halloween!

This week, as we neared the end of October and the air finally started to get crisp, I just wanted to sit down and relax with my art supplies. I didn’t have a set plan, but I ended up making some watercolor and ink wash cards with autumn and Halloween themes. This is one of my favorite handmade card techniques, and it also works well for place cards and envelopes. Of course it’s very versatile, too, depending on your paper and paint colors!

I earn small commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Proceeds help me to continue producing free content.

I folded thick black paper into 4x6-inch greeting cards, then using art tape, metallic watercolor, and a few different inks, I painted some abstract designs. Then I calligraphed my greetings into the blank space left by the art tape. I’ve linked all the art supplies below so you can follow along if you wish. Grab your favorite cup of coffee (or tea!), sit back, relax, and enjoy!
